Matthew Martin, Senior Vice President,
Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and Charlotte Regional Executive

Matthew Martin is an expert on U.S. Southeast and national economic issues. Martin joined the Charlotte Branch of the Federal Reserve bank as a regional economist in 2006. His responsibilities included analyzing regional economic conditions, as well as developing relationships with and educating the region's diverse constituents on the work of the Federal Reserve and the Richmond Fed. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve, Martin covered national and regional economic issues at Moody's Economy.com. His other professional experience includes time spent as an analyst at the Congressional Budget Office and as a faculty member at Kent State University, where he taught macroeconomics, money and banking, and economic history.

Gordon O. Dorsey - Senior Vice President and USA Country Operations Manager, Maersk Line

 

Gordon Dorsey was appointed Senior Vice President and USA Country Operations Manager in May of 2008.  He is responsible for the procurement and coordination of Maersk Line operations services, equipment control, and inland intermodal services as well as the Maersk Domestic transportation service.

Prior to this position, Mr. Dorsey was Vice President of Corporate Communications.  In that role, he was responsible for internal and external communications for Maersk Inc. in North America.  Before joining the corporate communications team, he was the Director of Compliance in the Maersk Inc. Health, Safety and Environment organization. 

Before joining Maersk, Mr. Dorsey was a member of the management team that operated the Exelon Dresden Nuclear Power Station and he completed a career in the U.S. Navy at the rank of Captain.  In the Navy, he was Captain of two warships, Air Defense Commander for a carrier battle group, the division chief for political/military plans and policy for Africa and the Middle East and served in the Pentagon in senior-level operations and strategy positions.

A native of Texas, Mr. Dorsey received a B.S. degree and a Masters Degree in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin.  He completed Navy Nuclear Propulsion Training and holds an ANSI Senior Reactor Operator Management Certification.
